We recommend that you replace your filters every 30 days.  Thin cheaper filters are recommended, thicker filters can result in restricted air flow.

We sugest setting your thermostat to a set temperature, and leave it there. It is a greater cost to keep turning your thermostat up and down, as opposed to leaving it at a set temperature.
